Stainless Steel420 Stainless Steel - This alloy is a general purpose heat treatable chromium steel which is a popular cutlery grade. Similar to machining some of the high carbon tool steel, this alloy has tough, stringy chip build-up. 410 Stainless Steel - It has good impact strength, corrosion and scaling resistance up to 1200 F (649 C). While this alloy can be machined in the annealed condition, it tends to perform better in the cold drawn or heat treated condition. 304 Stainless Steel - One of the most widely used and oldest of the stainless steels. It possesses an excellent combination of strength, corrosion resistance and fabricability. It is available in the widest variety of forms and sizes of any stainless steel. 303 Stainless Steel - 303 Stainless Steel is one of the most popular of all the free machining stainless steels. It offers good strength, corrosion resistance and great machinability. It will resist scaling at temperatures up to 1600 F (871 C). Used in an incredibly wide variety of parts both in screw and general machining industries. Applications include hardware, fasteners, valve parts, nozzles and trim. Excellent speeds and feeds are capable with this material. 316 Stainless Steel - This austenitic stainless steel has an increased molybdenum content to increase its resistance to corrosion when compared to other 300 series alloys. It will resist scaling at temperatures up to 1600 F (871 C) and maintains good mechanical properties and creep strength at high temperatures. 17-4 Stainless Steel - One of the most widely used precipitation hardening grades in the business. While soft and ductile in the solution annealed condition, it is capable of high properties with a single precipitation or aging treatment. Characterized by good corrosion resistance, high harness, toughness and strength. Long, gummy chips characterize this alloys machinability. It can be machined in the annealed condition, however condition H1150M will yield best results. Post machining solution treatment of parts will be required prior to final hardening if machining in this condition. 15-5 Stainless Steel - This is a martensitic, precipitation hardening, chromium-nickel-copper stainless steel. The alloy combines good strength, transverse toughness and ductility, hardness capability and corrosion resistance compared with 304 stainless steel. It may be used in the solution treated condition or heat treated to obtain a wide variety of properties. ~Steel 1 Company LLC will Blanchard grind, Mattison grind, or Machine complete, any material to your specifications~ |
